One of the most unique contemporary voices and lyricists in the region, Denis Katanec, is returning to Ljubljana. With his band, Klinika Denisa Kataneca, he’ll envelop us in the warm whirlwind of folk, shoegaze, and psychedelic songcraft on his new album. He’ll be joined by promising local indie pop youngsters Before Time.

Klinika is a band formed around accomplished singer-songwriter Denis Katanec, known for projects such as Felon and Okanagan LTD, as well as numerous solo performances that have won him a devoted fanbase and critical acclaim. His characteristically intimate, emotionally charged lyrics are the driving force behind the band’s rich blend of avant-folk, shoegaze, and psychedelia. The whirlwind of emotions and vibrant musical expression have audiences embracing Katanec’s music regardless of the setting or the name on the line-up, bringing people back time after time to find their own cathartic release.
Klinika Denisa Kataneca is returning to Ljubljana with a new album, Kao Zao Kor, the follow-up to the successful pandemic release Jada Jada, hailed by many as the best album of 2020. Kao Zao Kor cements Katanec’s status as one of the most fascinatingly introspective contemporary authors, treating listeners to a warm hug, a welcome home, and a slap back to reality (Radio Študent). The band will promote the album at their first headline concert at Kino Šiška.
Špil Liga winners Before Time are one of the most promising young bands from the Kamnik region, avoiding prevailing contemporary pop trends while confidently banging out catchy indie rock tunes. Drawing on their feelings, surroundings and inside jokes, they’ve crafted a fresh urban sound that represents a continuation of Slovenian new wave indie. The debut release Omni has certainly fulfilled expectations.
