Slovenian electro-rock machine Kontradikshn will shake up the February stillness with its wild crossover of breakbeats, punk, electronica and DnB, premiering their new album in our Komuna Hall.
As the name suggests, Slovenian trio Kontradikshn combines the incompatible, tempting even those who rarely find themselves on the dance floor to their hypnotic dance. Sigic described the band’s blend of fractured rhythms, synth punk, modern electronica and more as a meeting of The Prodigy, Laibach and The Chemical Brothers. Meanwhile, Rockline praises the band’s ability to stay ahead of the times. The band’s praises are also sung in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, where Kontradikshn have been performing since their very beginning – among other things, in 2013, the band won 2nd prize among 400 competitors at the largest regional festival for new bands, Demofest in Banja Luka.
Since then, there have been numerous gigs and tours both in Slovenia and Europe. In 2016, Kontradikshn released their full-fledged debut Reframing, which will receive its long-awaited successor in 2023. The album, which was created during the pandemic, was announced by the explosive single “Excess”, and we’re looking forward to hearing all eleven new songs live in February in Šiška.
We’ll warm up with MOONDIVERS, an independent solo musician from Novo Mesto, who has composed ten songs in his Lego electro sound since starting out about two years ago. The experienced vocalist and energetic frontman will present this so-called Respawn package in Šiška.
