Life Of Agony is one of the bands that became famous in the first half of the 1990s, alongside New York groups such as Biohazard, Madball and Vision Of Disorder.
At the time, all three above-mentioned bands (and Life Of Agony as such) broke through into the global mainstream with the Roadrunner Records albums Urban Discipline, Set It Off and Vision Of Disorder. The blend of streetwise lyrics, indestructible New York groove, and truly energetic concerts found its way into the hearts of many. In this respect, Life Of Agony are undoubtedly one of the more prominent bands, as they combined the groove of modern New York hardcore with the gloom of the one and only Type O Negative and Vision Of Disorder.
They surpassed all expectations with the River Runs Red album, a reflection of urban reality that was dark, pessimistic and extremely heavy. With hits such as “This Time”, “Through And Through”, “Method of Groove” and “Underground”, they stayed at the top of the charts, with the album hitting even harder live, as the band gave each concert their all.
However, Life Of Agony never rested on their laurels. Later albums again hit the nail on the head, even though only the previously mentioned River Runs Red attained classic status over time.
In between, the band experienced a small crisis and stopped playing, but returned stronger, as evidenced by the latest album A Place Where There’s No More Pain, which also features new drummer Veronica Bellino, while the remaining lineup of bassist Alan Robert (also famed as a comic book artist), guitarist Joey Z. and vocalist Mina Caputo smash even fiercer. This concert is definitely not to be missed.
