Join us for an evening of transformative music starring two of the most moving female vocalists from Italy right now. Lili Refrain and Kariti are coming to Šiška with their hauntingly beautiful musical ceremonies to lead us through the darkness to catharsis.
FOR FANS OF: Heilung, Lingua Ignota, Swans …
Lili Refrain, a renowned Italian multi-instrumentalist and composer, is known for her live performances, a mesmerizing blend of electric guitar, voice, percussion, and synthesizers, creating a unique soundscape that transcends genres. Her latest album Mana marks a daring exploration into lower frequencies and new vocal techniques, pushing the boundaries of her already expansive musical identity. The use of various types of percussion and the deep drones of the synth also allowed her to expand her vocal techniques, from throat singing to opera, leaving her more freedom to explore melodies and harmonies. Having graced the stages of international festivals such as Roadburn, Hellfest, and Desertfest, and toured with acts like Heilung and The Cult, Lili Refrain’s concert in Ljubljana promises a cathartic experience that defies linguistic and geographical limits.
Setting the stage for Lili Refrain will be Kariti. Born in Russia and now based in Italy, Kariti’s artistry offers a profound and atmospheric journey through her ambient folk, touching on themes of catharsis, loss, and bereavement. Her music, perfect for those who revel in dark explorations amidst nature’s remote settings, has earned her a place alongside artists like Messa and Grift. Having shared the stage with acts such as Brutus, Kariti’s liturgy-like shows are known for their intensity. She’ll perform in Šiška on the release day of her new album Dheghom, which promises an evolution in sound, songwriting, and instrumentation, maintaining her unique blend of melancholy and beauty.
