Lisa Grosskopf: Quitting Smoking Might Be Easier

Curated Series

Lisa Grosskopf’s work is dedicated to the social use of photography, human behavior in the digital world, differences and particularities of public and private space, as well as questions of sex, gender and heteronormativity. By humorously exaggerating and inventing anti-aging strategies in a performative act, she exposes the absurdity of beauty standards that occupy a great deal of space in both the public and private spheres.

Lisa Grosskopf (1989) studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna as well as at the Art University Linz. Her works have been shown in various exhibitions, including at Organhaus (Chongqing, CN), the CCA (Tel Aviv, IL), Krinzinger Projekte (Vienna, AT) and the Museum for Applied Arts (Frankfurt/Main, DE). She has participated in numerous artist residencies and received the Austrian Chancellery scholarship for emerging artists.

Curated by Lara Mejač.
