In the piece Tape, the template for the mural on the interior wall of Kino Šiška, artist Lucija Rosc plays with the multiple meanings of the English word “tape,” which can refer to both adhesive sellotape and audio or video cassettes.
The mural’s connection to Kino Šiška reflects the idea that the venue itself acts as an adhesive for urban culture, bringing together various events across different fields and uniting diverse generations and subcultures. The background of falling or moving tape symbolizes the behind-the-scenes aspect of this vibrant, dynamic, and ever-changing process— usually invisible to visitors but crucial to the final product, whether it be a concert, film, performance, or exhibition. This dynamic process, though intangible and felt rather than seen, is essential to the realization of these events.
