Legendary American star Macy Gray is coming to Šiška for the 25th anniversary of her breakthrough album On How Life Is!

Macy Gray is an artist who transcends genre boundaries, blending experimental soul with alternative rock, retro disco, and hip-hop. Her artistic integrity and innovation have captivated fans worldwide, including musicians like John Frusciante, Erykah Badu, Gang Starr, Mos Def, and Pharoahe Monch. Over a decade ago, she also performed at the Ljubljana Jazz Festival with the David Murray Infinity Quartet project.
On this visit to our city, the singer with one of the most distinctive voices in pop history celebrates 25 years since the release of On How Life Is, the album that launched her to international stardom. The mega-hit “I Try” became one of the most well-known songs of its time, earning Macy Gray a Grammy Award. The album reached #4 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold over seven million copies worldwide.
With her signature slightly raspy voice and a unique blend of soul, R&B, jazz, and pop, Macy Gray created an album that is still considered a classic today. Songs from the album, including “Still”, “Why Didn’t You Call Me”, and “Do Something”, defined the late 1990s and were featured in popular films like Training Day and Spider-Man. This June, they will finally be performed live in Šiška!
