Marko Hatlak BAND will perform in Ljubljana’s Kino Šiška on Saturday, October 21 together with guest stars Vlatko Stefanovski and Tinkara Kovač. Marko will present new songs from the upcoming album ”Lovilec sanj” (eng. “Dreamcatcher”) together with the rest of his lascivious repertoire.
Marko Hatlak BAND is a project in which we get to know the accordion player in a completely new light. The artist presents himself to us as an accordion player and as a singer in completely new and fresh fashion! Marko gathered top Slovenian musicians with him, who themselves inspire him with their work, virtuosity, the creative field from which they come, and their positive charge. Inspired by Jamiroquai, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, Michael Camilo, Prince and the gentle ballads of rock giants, he translates them into energetic, fun, rhythmic, danceable and youthful music.
Marko Hatlak explores music with the accordion. He convinced us with many successful and diverse projects – and he collaborated with renowned authors from all over the world – Joss Stone, Magnifico, Tommy Emmanuel, Vlatko Stefanovski, Stefan Milenkovich, Iztok Mlakar… Marko Hatlak discovers music in his own unique way, he doesn’t bother himself with genre labels…what matters to him is passion and goosebumps during the performance itself. According to this key, he also chooses musical guests and bands with whom he performs. His love for musical expression is also felt by the audience – tickets for his concerts are always in high demand.
He grew up in Idrija, a small place that “knows no shortcuts”. At the age of six, he already started writing a story in a local music school. Sometimes he also brought a guitar or drums to accordion lessons. After secondary music and ballet school, he continued his journey in Germany, in Weimar and in Würzburg, where he completed his postgraduate studies with the famous professor Stefan Hussong. In more than 15 years of active concerts in Slovenia and on recognized foreign stages, he has built a unique and recognizable style as a soloist and in collaboration with many renowned performers, bands and orchestras. As a soloist, he played with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, we saw him in the bands Terrafolk, Distango, Funtango, Tango Compás, Kapobanda.
Every expression in Marko Hatlak’s music is underlined with passion, he wants to transfer this experience to the visitors of his concerts, he wants to enchant people with music. We are expecting an evening full of lively rhythms from Latin, funk, rock to pop, so get your dancing shoes ready!
