The unquestionable rulers of the Slovenian urban scene, Matter threw an unforgettable and sold out party at the release of their second album, coinciding with Kino Šiška’s 9th anniversary. Now they’re returning and amping up with their third album in as many years, the three-part Troglav, solidifying their triumvirate in our land.
On their debut Amphibios (2016), Dacho, Levanael and Tunja melded into one, laying the foundations of one of the most original sonic expression in independent Slovenia, setting off debates about the very essence of their music. With the follow-up Mrk (2017) they shone even brighter, inscribing their name among legends and selling o0ut our main hall in the process. Now it’s time for the next chapter, a three-part climb up Troglav and reaffirmation of their primacy on the local scene.
Ahead of the concert, we’ll warm up with a short-and-sweet performance by young rapper Acty of the design/skateboarding crew LYC, and after Matter, we’re moving a floor lower, where YGT will perform their club live act. The last time the Slovenian post-poppers took as dancing was during Daphni’s allnighter in September. Now, in December, they’ll also release a new album, titled Sinking Ship.
