Croatian musical jester Miki Solus is returning to Ljubljana for the promotion of his new album, the conclusion to his “Musical Trilogy”, made famous a few years ago by the hit ‘Hipster’. He’ll be joined by punk singer-songwriters Natriletno kolobarjenje s praho.
He began with lo-fi guitar folk punk, then put the guitar away and switched to rapping behind a piano. Now on the finale of his “Musical Trilogy”, this year’s album Muzika o nogometu, jazzu in palačinkama, he again combines various styles, from drum ‘n’ bass and retro schlagers to rap and polka, in entertaining pop songs, dominated by the piano and accordion. Yep, Miki Solus is truly a genre-transcending master singer-songwriter, giving his humorous yet piercing take on everyday troubles and joys. In his own words: “If you like serious, high quality, stylistically balanced genre music, then this album definitely isn’t for you. If you like originality, jokes, carefree music and daft lyrics, then you’re gonna love it.”
Miki will be accompanied by a brand new band, the best so far according to him, composed of a bassist, saxophone player and drummer. The four-piece is ready to sweep your feet off the ground with a furious combination of gypsy jazz, rap, swing and punk. Not even Zlatan Ibrahimović is going to miss the festivities, so make sure to mark 23rd November in your calendars. See you!
Natriletno kolobarjenje s praho is the project of lyricist and performer Jure Novak and multiinstrumentalist and vocalist Uroš Buh, the result of intertwining complex, literary lyrics with varied musical approaches, mostly based on the grunge generational background of the authors. After their brave debut album, one of the best Slovenian releases of 2015, the two are currently developing the material for their second album, expected in early 2018.
