Razstava Navidezni teren predstavlja novo umetniško produkcijo ustvarjalcev mlajše generacije, ki s fiktivljanjem presegajo obstoječe pripovedi, infrastrukture in materialne predoločenosti v gradnji še neznanih tal, kjer se sedanjost cepi v alternativne tokove prihodnjih zgodovin.
Guided tour with artists: Saturday, 25 May, 14:00
The Virtual Ground exhibition presents new artistic productions of the young generation of artists who, by fictioning, go beyond existing narratives, infrastructures and material predeterminations in the formation of unknown grounds, where the present branches into alternate courses of future histories.
Circulating between virtuality and reality is The Core, a video game by Dorijan Šiško, in which players navigate through a labyrinth of different accelerationist routes to a hypothetical future on their journey to the core. The installation A Fungus Among Us by Maja Bojanić listens in on a future where natural and cultural heritage have undergone radical alterations, and decay has become a vital tool of restoration. Matej Mihevc’s installation Tensor Edge Recon Gear Pack materialises fragments from the world of T.E.R., where players try in vain to unravel the mysterious remnants scattered throughout what were once hotspots of emergent cultural production. In Module of Re-terraforming, Lara Žagar works to develop a model of an ecosystem that, in the wake of global devastation, gives rise to new forms of organisation and a re-transformation of Earth.
