On the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the DobraVaga Gallery, we are thinking about the marketplace. About the space where the gallery is located, about the space that we are actively co-creating.
Marketplace is the title of the main commercial group exhibition, again complemented by a thematically related exhibition in the ZINE VITRINE programme. The exhibition will display the diverse views of authors on the chosen topic, both visually and conceptually. The displayed works of art approach the topic through criticism and observation, or are simply inspired by the visual and aesthetic value of this urban space, so important for everyday life and the pulse of the city.
Through the theme of the marketplace and the market in a broader sense, works that question or respond to the issues of the art market will also be on display. In doing so, we expand the addressing of our position within the urban space to the position of the gallery and the artists in the art scene. A magic seven years is certainly enough to pay tribute to the part of the city where we work and meet residents and visitors. At the same time, the abundance of projects that we have carried out over the years, the many works of art that we have displayed at our address, and the hefty number of those that were taken from our premises by their new owners, lead us to reflect on the art market as well.
