Mother calls, children. To Kino Šiška on the 21st of December.
Celebrated as “Mother” by Raiven’s Eurovision family, the symbol has become synonymous with the continuation of Sirens, the Pandora’s box of women’s destinies that the classically trained Raiven first opened with “Veronika.”
As a finalist in the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, Raiven is concluding her tenth anniversary with the release of the second part of her tribute to women. The mystical tales of Helen of Troy, Electra, Ophelia, Carmen, and Veronika Deseniška, featured on her EP “Sirene, Pt. 1,” are not isolated muses. The upcoming second chapter of Sirens on 21 December continues Raiven’s exploration of the avant-garde in contemporary music.
The message “I am, you are, Veronika,” continues to resonate powerfully after the Eurovision finale, heralding a new chapter in the artistic imprint of Raiven. As a composer, lyricist, and producer, she creates a dialogue between past and present, holding a mirror to society. From her debut album Magenta and the single “Jadra” (2014) to the EPs REM and Sirene, Pt. 1, Raiven crafts mystical soundscapes. Her concerts offer a retrospective of her creative journey, reviving memories of iconic musical and visual expressions from the EMA competitions and her 2021 victory at the renowned Popevka festival with the song “Volkovi.”
Her musical versatility transcends electropop. In 2022, she ventured into the realm of electro-opera with the single “Habanera.” After completing her studies at the Academy of Music, where she received the Prešeren Award, she began leaving her mark at the SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, performing in productions such as Orpheus in the Underworld and Eugene Onegin, as well as the title role in the opera María de Buenos Aires.
On stage, this musical alchemist transforms sound through movement, opera’s emotion, and electropop rhythms, accompanied by strings, creating a symphony of Sirens. Part 2.
Tickets on sale on Thursday, 22 AVG at Eventim.
