A series of day-long clothing and textiles recycling workshops
Within the international project What’s the Deal?, Kino Šiška is in 2015 again organising a series of creative recycling workshops in cooperation with GUMB Association for Fostering Creative Thinking and Living. Held each third Saturday in February, March and April, day-long workshops will see the participants supervised by experienced tutors discover creative ways to reshape worn-out clothing and textiles into diverse, unique and useful products. Workshops will be based on DIY creativity and will therefore offer many opportunities for creative exploration and experimentation.
Attendance to workshops is free of charge and open to all creative individuals aged 15 or above. They will be run by Katarina Zalar and Jurij Bobič from GUMB Association for Fostering Creative Thinking and Living.
Attendance to each set of workshops is limited. Applications have to be submitted in advance to: kiosk@kinosiska.si.
Reusing T-shirts Creatively
Saturday 18 Apr 2015, from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm
Is there anybody whose wardrobe does not contain a T-shirt they never wear? At the April workshop, single-colour, promotional or simply boring cotton T-shirts will be transferred into unique pieces. We will add stiches, draw or print interesting patterns, cover annoying logos with patches and replace them with our texts. We will also be playing with interesting accessories like rubber, rivets, buttons and zips.
