In March 2019, the band Riverside returned to Ljubljana with their first new album since the sudden death of founding member Piotr Grudziński, Wasteland, with which it had proved that it still belongs among the giants of the prog rock genre despite the tragic loss. The album retains the characteristic piercing beauty of the band’s compositions, underlined with metal heaviness, and acts as a successor to the band’s exceptional second album Second Life Syndrome, one of the best prog rock releases of all time.
As evidenced by the above reviews, the band is more than convincing live as well, and it’s an honour they will start the final, Blakan leg of their Wasteland tour in Šiška. Riverside are simply a band that fans of progressive sounds should catch live at least once in their lives.
