Once again, we’ll be entertained by tongue-in-cheek indie pop couple SEA + AIR, who will take a break from writing their third album with a free gig on our summer terrace. In the words of Radio Študent after their visit last year, Daniel and Eleni are “one of those bands whose unique energy, charisma and relaxed performance are most evident live”, which is why you should make sure to mark 11th July in your calendars. The Summer in Šiška awaits!
With their idiosyncratic musical expression and unconventional array of instruments, two-time Indekš guests SEA + AIR first played their second album Evropi for us in February last year. Since its release, the record, drenched in Mediterranean warmth, has climbed high on many a chart and got the duo onto numerous primetime TV shows around the world. In the meantime, Eleni and Daniel moved to Greece to be closer to the South European countries they so enjoy touring, and started writing their third album there.
The pair, who simultaneously handles several unorthodox musical instruments at the melodic crossroads of indie rock, pop and art rock, has shared the stage with Whitney Houston, Sufjan Stevens, The White Stripes, José Gonzalez, Wovenhand, John Grant and The Flaming Lips. This time around, Café Kino Šiška awaits.
Summer in Šiška is a series of free evening concerts, helping you chase away the summer boredom. If the weather cooperates, we’ll cool off with a refreshing drink on the summer terrace of Café Kino Šiška, and if it looks to be raining, we’ll listen to good tunes curled up on the couches in our lobby.
