For the third year in a row, our courtyard will brighten up with varied activities throughout the day! You’ll be able to test yourself in various sports, creative and cultural activities, and in the evening, in honour of our 10th anniversary, the stage will be taken over by Slovenian acts that left a significant mark on both Šiška and the Slovenian music scene over the past decade: Laibach, Matter, Koala Voice, zalagasper, MRFY, YGT and Klemen Klemen. Entry to all events is of course again free.
We’ll start in the morning with a varied and colourful programme for those young at heart and body, prepared in cooperation with the various cultural, sports, dance and youth organisations that co-shape the urban cultural beat of both Šiška and the city of Ljubljana. You’ll be able to try out various urban sports and recreational activities, from skateboarding, rollerblading, BMX, hip-hop and breakdancing to boxing and martial arts, compete in a table tennis tournament, learn about street art and participate in various creative workshops, relaxing while reading in the Library Under the Treetops, and take a guided tour of Pocestnica – the first readymade open-air gallery in Šiška.

The documentary film by director and screenwriter Maja Pavlin takes us to the time of a chronic lack of suitable venues for contemporary musical, visual and performing arts, to the opening and establishment of the central Slovenian institution for urban creativity, faced with the question of how to navigate between the duties and restrictions of a public institution and the expectations and needs of the scene? Between the growing mentality of exclusion and the basic idea of an institute about multiculturalism, integration and stimulation of various artistic practices?

In the evening, the stage in front of Kino Šiška will feature local artists who celebrated Kino Šiška’s past anniversaries with grand concerts in our Katedrala Hall – Klemen Klemen, Koala Voice, Laibach, Matter, MRFY and YGT – and the new phenomenon of Slovenian pop, zalagasper. Together we’ll look back on the past ten years and toast the next ten. Come to Šiška, come hang!
