After an incredible performance in 2018, the fearlessly curious Son Lux trio returns to Šiška even stronger and more acclaimed. With the completed album triptych Tomorrows I–III, the protégés of City Slang Record provided some of the best releases of the past couple of years, and in 2022 they enriched their discography with the original soundtrack for the eagerly anticipated film Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Since the solo beginnings of composer Ryan Lott, Son Lux has operated as a kind of sonic test kitchen. With their compositions of fragile electronic pop, overflowing soundscapes and intimate soul ideas, the band tries to question established assumptions about creating music and reconstruct the latter at the molecular level. Lott’s remarkable musical intuition was further enhanced through his collaboration with now full-fledged band members Ian Chang and Rafiq Bhatia, likewise committed to constant musical exploration.

They took their experiments a step further with the album triptych Tomorrows I–III, three albums released over two years, on which they discarded the traditional record format and let their music breathe and flow naturally. According to numerous critics, they certainly succeeded – AV Club called the project “one of the most inventive and inspiring musical triptychs of the past decade”. But even though the fellas could have deservedly rested on their laurels, they continued working and created a massive collection of 49 original songs for the highly anticipated sci-fi film Everything Everywhere All at Once. The soundtrack also includes collaborations with David Byrne, Mitski, Moses Sumney and others, again attesting to the breadth, virtuosity and reputation of the band, who are finally embarking on a club tour again in February – including a return to Šiška.

Holland Andrews is an American vocalist, composer and performance artist who draws on opera, theatre and jazz to build complex soundscapes for voice, clarinet and electronic, encompassing both catharsis and dissonance. They’ve collaborated with Son Lux, Christina Vantzou, William Brittelle, Peter Broderick and others, gaining recognition from publications such as The Wire, The New York Times and BBC Radio. They’re also one of the first artists released on the Berlin-based record label Leiter, spearheaded by Nils Frahm.
