David Krančan continues exploring flexible comic forms.
Based on his own comics, he will reveal the narrative structures in images, the grammar of comics’ language, and the interaction between space and time in comics. After the lecture, the author will be available for answering questions and drawing dedications in the Grdina and Drunken Rabbit comics.
David Krančan (1984, Ljubljana) graduated in Visual Communication from the Department of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. He has been a member of the editorial office of the Stripburger magazine for nearly 15 years. In 2014, he published the Grdina children’s comic, then Drunken Rabbit a year later. Both comics are based on the Zverinice iz Rezije tales. In recent years, his illustrations have been regularly featured on the cover of Dnevnikov Objektiv.
When it comes to comics, Krančan focuses on the visual aspect above all. Both in theory and practice, he is a researcher of the dimensions of comics as an artistic expression, as well as of the specifics of comics narration. He lives and works near Kranj.
