April Marmara is the musical alter ego of Beatriz Diniz, a singer-songwriter who lives on the banks of the Tagus River in Lisbon, where she writes folk music and wonders about transience.
Her latest album “Still Life”, the follow-up to her 2018 debut “New Home”, is a collection of eight tracks, full of cinematic soundscapes and vivid lyrics that question humanity’s relationship with nature and our own place in the world. April Marmara’s hypnotic guitar riffs draw the listener into a tranquil trance, only to be gently awakened by the soft melodies of the cello and clarinet, and her unique voice.
Summer in Šiška is a series of free evening concerts on Wednesdays for summer get-togethers and bonding over music. In good weather, you can cool down with a refreshing drink in hand in the summer garden of the Kino Šiška Café, and in case of rain, you can enjoy the music under the roof of our Komuna Hall.
