Gloria Amesbauer from Vienna works under the moniker GLAM. GLAM explores the intersection of pop and new music, using body, voice and computer as her primary musical tools.
Vocal arrangements are imbued with screams and silence, usually backed by piano, hectic rhythms and electronica. Her latest album “The Colour, The Dark”, which she will also present at Šiška, features diverse tracks ranging from the EDM-ish “I Clean Up My Place” to the metal riff-heavy “The Valve” and even a cover of Kate Bush’s “Wuthering Heights”. The tracks feature strong string patterns and soft lyrics, while the wind instrument trio makes the pop opera sound epic in “Still” and “Embryo”.
Summer in Šiška is a series of free evening concerts on Wednesdays for summer get-togethers and bonding over music. In good weather, you can cool down with a refreshing drink in hand in the summer garden of the Kino Šiška Café, and in case of rain, you can enjoy the music under the roof of our Komuna Hall.
