Primož Vidovič is a Slovenian singer and performing songwriter, known for his witty satires and heartfelt ballads.
His original music, which won him the golden Kanta award at Kantfest, the Serbian TAKT fest award and a place in the finals of the Slovenian Chanson Festival, will be released this year on his full-length debut “Carmina humana”. With his cabaret theatricals and varied music, intertwined with tango, jazz, sevdalinka and fado influences, he does not mince his words when exposing human failings and the tragicomic stories of modernity. Complementing his expression with accordionist Matjaž Balažic, his music evokes an atmosphere from Sarajevo kafanas to Dublin pubs, rooted in his native Slovenia. Jani Kovačič describes his work as “chanson in vintage form”.
