Ronia is a self-taught musician from Graz whose compositions are inspired by Moondog and his unique music-making practices with a strong emphasis on spontaneity. Her inspiration results in sound figures of piano themes and backing guitars, rounded off with synths, and the compositions are precisely dosed with wind or string instruments.
In the lyrics, Ronia’s personal beliefs are intertwined with universal issues of human interaction, underpinned by subtle emotions and wordplays. On her second album “String Along”, the musician expanded her playful yet melancholic compositions, which are reminiscent of mid-20th century fairytale film scores, with the help of The Little Band, while her debut album “Waltz In” is more minimalist.
