Rok Zalokar & Žiga Smrdel have been collaborating for many years in various bands (Zhlehtet, Rok Zalokar Trio etc.), but this time they will perform as a classical duet on piano and drums with an additional synthetic touch.
In many of their projects, Zalokar, a pianist and composer from Ljubljana, and Smrdel, a versatile drummer from Ilirska Bistrica, move from contemporary jazz and popular songs to open explorations and theatre music. The duo has been building a shared soundscape since 2022 through bold interplay and improvisation, building surrealistic keyboard sounds with groovy drumstick strokes, manifold effects and layers of intertwining patterns.
Summer in Šiška is a series of free evening concerts on Wednesdays for summer get-togethers and bonding over music. In good weather, you can cool down with a refreshing drink in hand in the summer garden of the Kino Šiška Café, and in case of rain, you can enjoy the music under the roof of our Komuna Hall.
