One of the most important bands of the Bulgarian alternative scene is bringing its intense, boundary-pushing blend of experimental rock and jazz to Šiška for the first time.
FOR FANS OF: Chat Pile, Ashenspire, Black Midi …
A Bulgarian alternative rock band based in Plovdiv, TDK (ТДК) plays a chugging fusion of post-punk, noise, and psychedelia, characterized by suffocating, atmospheric soundscapes. Addressing themes of existentialism, societal issues, and inner turmoil, often delivered with raw sincerity by the band’s frontman, TDK are part of a growing global wave of disaffected artists churning out an intense, engaging musical expression – think Chat Pile, Agriculture, or Model/Actriz.
TDK have cultivated a strong following within the Bulgarian underground scene, appealing to listeners with their exhilarating emotional honesty and steadily growing into one of the most important alternative bands in the region. Combining heavy guitar riffs, intricate drumming, and introspective vocals, they’ve released a number of well-received tracks and albums that showcase their evolving sound and artistic growth and continue to push the boundaries of contemporary Bulgarian music with a bite to it.
Ahead of TDK, The Canyon Observer, a local post-post-everything crew, will bring their infernal racket to Šiška, intertwining delicate and atmospheric parts with a direct, furious din in their experimental sound. Ever since the critically acclaimed debut album FVCK, which took them around Europe and even to Cuba, the band has been constantly evolving – on last year’s album Figura, this takes the form of an enriched sonic arsenal that meanders between noise, free jazz, classical music and the avant-garde with the assistance of saxophones and cello.
