Almost a year after packing our Katedrala Hall and receiving standing ovations “with another wonderful concert” (Radio Študent), the cult godfathers of alternative cabaret, the Tiger Lillies, are coming back. Together we’ll celebrate 30 years of hedonistic tunes, bizarre tales and sinful adventures, told in their unique and exciting manner.
The world of the Tiger Lillies is dark, beyond compare and varied, suffused in moments of deep sadness, cruel black humour and boundless beauty. The punk-cabaret entertainers formed in 1989 and are regarded as one of the most special and provocative bands today, deftly blending the darker aspects of life, vivid storytelling, twisted humour and circus theatricality in their music.
The “genius clowns”, as Delo wrote at one of their previous visits, will play Šiška for the fifth time, and they’ve left an enraptured audience behind every single time. At the 30th anniversary of these Grammy Award nominees, we can look forward to an overview of their colourful opus, with plenty of time for audience requests as well, of course.
