Swedish symphonic metal legends finally back in Ljubljana!
In March, Therion will stop at Kino Šiška as part of their tour promoting their latest studio release Beloved Antichrist and put on a special musical and theatrical performance. The album was inspired by A Short Tale of the Antichrist by Russian philosopher and writer Vladimir. It features a unique blend of choral singing, operatic solos and classic symphonic parts, combined with metal.
It’s undoubtedly a megalomaniacal piece of work, completely in Therion’s style – since forming in 1987, the band hasn’t been afraid to experiment and blend genres. Their music career led them from death metal to symphonic and gothic metal, with the peak of this evolutionary process being the metal opera.
They’re accompanied on tour by Imperial Age from Moscow, who also combine symphony and metal opera and will visit Ljubljana with their third album. Their music is a mix of powerful heavy metal and choral and symphonic parts. Critics describe them as a cross between Therion, Nightwish, Rhapsody, Manowar and Avantasia.
The evening will be opened by German newcomers Null Positiv, who define themselves as alternative metal with very characteristic female vocals.
We’re therefore in for an evening of magnificent melodies and a thorough stage performance. Don’t miss out!
