THIS WILL DESTROY YOU & THE OCEAN

+ SPURV

Šiška will roar and thunder again! On a night of loud, heavy music, post-metal veterans The Ocean will stop by with their new album Holocene, released this May, and they will be joined by another eminent band, Texan post-rockers This Will Destroy You and instrumental post-rock wave Spurv.

FOR FANS OF: Cult of Luna, God Is An Astronaut, Deafheaven…

This Will Destroy You are not far behind in terms of volume and bold riffs, either. Nearly two decades old, band has evolved over the years into a force of instrumental post-rock. Their epic layered compositions gracefully blend quieter moments of poignancy and emotional bareness with brutal sonic destruction, earning them a worldwide following. In addition to regular concerts and studio releases, the band also devotes a lot of time to composing music for films and art installations – among other things, they also created the music for the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Vespertine in the USA. For their first visit to Šiška, they’re serve up an unforgettable experience for metal gourmands.

More than twenty years after their formation, the German collective The Ocean is considered one of the driving forces of contemporary metal, standing alongside bands such as Cult of Luna, Amenra and Neurosis with their atmospheric, massive post-metal sound. This year, they expanded their already extensive discography with their tenth album, Holocene, rounding off their series of paleontologically inspired albums in which they grapple with the alienation, mindlessness and devaluation of modern society. A critically acclaimed record, progressive, boundary-pushing music and relentless live performances are a recipe for a musical treat that should not be missed by any devotee of heaviness.

Spurv, who will be joining the present caravan as special guests, are considered representatives of the modern instrumental post-rock wave. This six-member Norwegian collective from Oslo, known for their intense and emotive performances, has been active since 2010. They are set to release their highly anticipated third studio album, “Brefjære,” at the end of September through the Pelagic record label.
