The international project WOMCOM (Woman Power in Comics), in which Kino Šiška participates as the Slovenian partner, aims to foster collaboration and engagement among comic authors and illustrators with the goal of investigating and addressing gender issues in comics as well as empowering female comic artists.
The travelling exhibition features the comic works created during the first two WOMCOM residencies in Serbia and Hungary. Under the guidance of renowned comics artists and curators, artists from Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Hungary, Greece and Slovenia created comics and works that explore gender-related themes and issues. Slovenian artists who participated in the WOMCOM residencies in 2023 are Dora Kaštrun, Katarina Šeme and Petja Kolenko.
