Tomaž Hostnik is the author of more than 70 songs in the Slovenian language, including the opuses of the bands Vudlenderji, Drajnarjuva vampa, Hostnik pa Krečič, music for children, film, theatre, etc. He received the highest award at the 14th international singer-songwriters’ festival Kantfest for his work, the most votes via televoting at the 39th Melodije Morja in Sonca (MMS) festival for his song “Irena”, and the Best Lyrics Award at Popevka 2019. In July, he headed back to MMS, in September, Popevka 2021 will feature no fewer than two of his songs, and in August, he’ll perform with multitalented artist Matic Plemenitaš in Šiška.
Summer in Šiška is a series of free evening concerts, helping you chase away the social distancing blues. If the weather cooperates, we’ll cool off with a refreshing drink on the summer terrace of Café Kino Šiška, and if it looks to be raining, we’ll listen to good tunes in accordance with applicable public health regulations beneath the roof of our Komuna Hall.
