The freshest new name in Slovenian music Tschimy lit up the internet with his first EP and is now ready to debut his live act online. Fusing the millennial generations’ yearning with their parent’s record collections, this is a must for fans of vaporwave, soft jams and hard emotional truths.
Corona or not, we’ll be remembering autumn 2020 by the surprise Tschimy prepared for the local music scene with his solo singer-songwriter/contemporary instrumental production project. The artist, previously familiar from his hip-hop beats and DJ sets for the Spejs collective and the rx:tx label, as well as the bassist in jazz band Lube duše and the piercing voice of the Sankofa African choir, first released a music video for the song “Hera” toward the end of September, then unleashed the romantic spirit of the Human OS EP.
The Human OS EP, published by the small cassette label Ente Tapes, circulated with elegant speed, drawing joyous exclamations from listeners and reviewers, who justifiably see exceptional narrative potency in Tschimy’s story of yearning, affection and disappointment. The unexpected universal appeal of the young author instils hope for the fruitful intermingling of histories and futures, memories and longings, songs of the past and the music of today’s youth.
In its many nuances, Tschimy’s alter indie pop reflects the genre stylings of the millennial generations, which intertwine the legacies of sensual jazz and soul with more current trends. Through Tschimy’s patient tempo and piercing use of the Slovenian language, we’ll think back to the classic songs of local music history, their boundless playfulness, love and colourful life issues.
Due to current public health regulations, the concert will take place only via direct payable stream on the DICE platform, viewable on any smart device.
Organisation: Kino Šiška.
