Human Beings – God’s only mistake is a ongoing series of solo exhibitions created by Wasted Rita in 2013 having in common the unceasing desire and interest for exploring, reflecting and collecting emotions, actions, ideas and a everyday state of making up assumptions on mankind. New theories meeting old theories, overrated clichés becoming more current than ever and tons of boundless speculations about this pretty little thing we call society: the downs and highs, divergences and congruences, perversity and morality, complexity and (too much) predictability and the very supreme thin line between perfection and atrocity. This project can be seen as a never-ending thesis about being a human being and, consequently and bowing to fate, the biggest mistake macrocosm has ever seen. Keep calm blame Holy Spirit.
Wasted Rita is a graphic designer and illustrator conceived in New Jersey, based in Lisbon when not traveling around. She was born a natural agent provocateur, sarcastic as needed and a full-time thinker who must write about life, human behaviors and play with words in order to keep breathing. Creator and responsible for www.ritabored.blogspot.com – an almost daily updated blog that got famous for its black humor drawings and crude hand lettered statements and that been featured in countless art & graphic design websites, several magazines and a few books. She had her work exhibited in Paris, London, Berlin, Bochum, Zagreb, throughout Portugal, and freelanced for a variety of worldwide clients. She studied in a religious college and grew up listening to Black Flag, turning out to be a harsh mixture between Jesus Christ and punk-rock. Rough and rude at first sight, above all, just a passionate kid doing what she thinks she should.
