FOR FANS OF: Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm, John Grant …
From his early beginnings learning classical instruments to the pivotal moment when he transformed his destiny by picking up a guitar and forming a rock band, Tiersen’s musical evolution has been nothing short of extraordinary. He’s a self-taught musician who thrives on intuition and the vision of “musical anarchy.” Tiersen’s groundbreaking albums like Le Phare and his contributions to the soundtrack of the Oscar-winning Amélie propelled him to international fame. His discography continued to evolve with albums like Skyline and Infinity, showcasing his willingness to experiment with various sounds.
Tiersen revisited his catalogue in 2019 with Portrait, collaborating with notable artists such as Stephen O’Malley, Gruff Rhys, and Blonde Redhead. This exploration led to Kerber in 2021, where he delved into the world of electronic music with finesse and subtlety.
In 2024, Yann Tiersen is embarking on the Kerber Complete Tour: Solo Piano + Electronics, promising an intimate and unique musical experience. Traveling solo in his campervan across Europe, he will avoid the usual touring paraphernalia, opting for personal connections with fans along the way.
Having sold out our venue multiple times in the past, the virtuoso musician’s return to Ljubljana offers an unmissable opportunity to witness a musical genius at work. Mark your calendars, secure your tickets, and get ready – Yann Tiersen is coming to visit.
Tiersen is joined on his journey by his wife and Mute Records labelmate Quinquis, a Breton artist formerly known as Tiny Feet. Quinquis’ new works, including a debut album and an EP, both released in 2023, forge a deep connection to the artist’s own culture, history, and identity, and seer her working with a new sonic palette after several albums released as Tiny Feet. Working with producer Gareth Jones, whose past collaborators include Depeche Mode, Einstürzende Neubauten, and Erasure, she has crafted deeply personal musical stories that merge sparse electronics, immersive atmospherics, and deft melodies, carried by her tender yet quietly soaring vocals.
