On the first day of the festival, Wednesday, 30. 1., at Kino Šiška, Sevdaliza, Iceage, Blu Samu, Haiku Garden, КУКЛА and cl_tr will launch you on a live music club voyage at no fewer than 17 stages at venues all over Ljubljana. Following the Wednesday warm-up, you’re in for a hefty dose of fresh music creativity, which you can now take day by day – day tickets, costing 15 Euros in presale, are now available.

The MENT Ljubljana mobile app

A bunch of Slovenian musicians at MENT are featuring new creations, we’ll hear the best in French metal and pop, the state of math in Norway, Serbian dream pop, Serbian rock ‘n’ roll, Serbian futuristic rock ‘n’ roll, Polish dub, Slovak noise, Swiss indie, Swiss grrrl power, Swiss cheese, Dutch punk, Belgian punk, Luxembourgian contemporary jazz, Lithuanian surf hip-hop and Ukrainian electronic impressionism. Before you dive into the sea of music genres live, check them out online. The Slovenian moMENT compilation is also out, featuring music by all Slovenian acts at the fifth MENT.

Cultural and artistic experiMENT

An extraordinary addition to the MENT Ljubljana programme are the specials, which explore the link between music and contemporary visual art, technology and community. One of them is the third edition of the appointMENT #3 music posters. The exhibition will open at the DobraVaga Gallery on Thursday, 24. 1., at 7pm and brings together all of the acts at MENT and 71 local and international contemporary artists. Along with the Projekt Atol Institute, MENT is organising a workshop on oscilloscope music, which Jerobeam Fenderson and Hansi3D will present live at the Slovenian Cinematheque on 31. 1. at 7pm. Multimedia artists 5237 x SMECH are preparing an interactive audio-visual installation that will be premiered at the festival opening at Kino Šiška and on Friday at the Ljubljana Castle. On Friday, MENT will also focus on the phenomenon of the Russian Hyperboloid Records, first at the conference and later at the club night at Gala Hala.

Take the free funicular to the concerts at the new venue, the Ljubljana Castle

On Friday, 1. 2., eight of the festival acts will play at four stages at the Ljubljana Castle. Festival wristband wearers will be able to ride the funicular to the Rock Hall, the Castle Chapel, the Hribar Hall and the Castle Theatre for free. Wristband wearers will also be able to ride all Ljubljana public buses (LPP) for free every day of the festival.
