Liveurope secures EU funding for 4 more years and will continue boosting new European talent
12. 12. 2024
We are proud to announce that Liveurope has been selected for EU funding for the 4th consecutive time and will continue boosting the circulation of new European talent for the next 4 years.
A success story 10 years in the making
Established in 2014, Liveurope empowers leading music venues across the continent to showcase more emerging European talent on their stages. Celebrating a decade since its creation this year, Liveurope today is considered a success story of the Creative Europe programme.
At the core of our platform is an impact-driven and innovative bonus mechanism that allocates grants to our member venues based on the number of emerging European acts they book. Thanks to this model, our venues have, on average, programmed 63% more non-national European artists than before joining Liveurope. Our model simplifies access to EU funding, with most of our member venues having never received EU support before joining Liveurope.
Strengthening European cooperation and music diversity
With a newly secured grant of €2.8 million running from 2025 to 2028, we are set to continue our mission to give a stage to promising artists across Europe. By the end of this grant period, we are projected to reach 8,000 concerts supported with emerging European acts since our inception.
Expanding the platform will remain a key priority in this new cycle. What began with 13 venues in 2014 has now grown to encompass 24 venues across 24 countries. We will continue our efforts to expand our network, enabling more music venues to access crucial financial support to help them enhance the European dimension of their programmes.
Renewed focus on sustainability and inclusion
The next chapter of Liveurope’s journey comes with a stronger focus on sustainability and inclusion. We will gather more data to monitor the touring practices of artists, further encourage the use of sustainable ground transport during tours, and foster exchanges of best practices among our members.
As signatories of the Keychange pledge, we aim to have at least 50% of the acts we support reflect gender balance by the end of this funding period. We will continue amplifying the voices of diverse talents shaping the European music scene, providing them with greater international visibility.
