At the DobraVaga Gallery, we are once again announcing the OPEN STUDIO program, which we established when noting that at the beginning of their careers, especially younger artists often do not have the opportunity to use the spaces intended for creation. Since the beginnings of the DobraVaga Gallery, we have been inviting artists without their own studios to work on the gallery’s premises for an agreed period of three months.

We invite artists working in Slovenia who are at the beginning of their professional artistic career and who work in the field of visual art or new media or experiment with different media, techniques or artistic expressions to apply to the open call. The artists selected in the call will be able to use the studio space free of charge during the gallery’s working hours and receive a fee of 500 EUR (gross).

Submit your application to the DobraVaga OPEN STUDIO call at info@dobravaga.si (subject: OA 2022 application) by 18 June 2022.

The application should include: 

• name and surname
• contact details (e-mail and phone, address in Slovenia)
• CV and/or artist statement (half of an A4 page, describing your artistic work, techniques and fields of interest)
• current artistic production: photos and concepts of 3–5 works or a portfolio (any video works should be submitted with active links to YouTube, Vimeo or other video streaming platforms)

This year’s call includes four (4) three-month residences: October–December 2022, January–March 2023, April–June 2023 and July–September 2023. We reserve the right to change the dates and carry out a smaller number of residencies.

Candidates who will submit their application by 18 June 2022 at the latest are expected to be notified by the end of July 2022.
